About Digital Dimension Gaming - The Venue

First and foremost, the Digital Dimension Gaming Venue is run by gamers, for gamers.

Tentative venue opening.... November, 2008.
More info coming soon....

The purpose of the Digital Dimension Gaming venue is to provide all gamers with a place to gather, game, practice, hang out and just chill. DDG is a venue for aspiring gamers to hone their skills and partake in tournaments and meet other gamers who want to take their game to the next level. It is a place for the gaming communities of Houston to expand, grow, and prosper.

Check the Events Calendar to find out what's going on and when. Tournaments and events are always happening. Here you'll find the top gamers in their respective fields, so watch out for those pros with sticks.

DDG is open to anyone from any gaming community. We even have the pro gamers teaching noobies in actual classes, so if you're interested in stepping it up a notch, check out the Class Schedule.

History

It all started a long time ago at A-kon (around 2004), when we discovered that they wouldn't have a game room. Well, we asked con-ops if we could set up a BYOC. They said yes, and thus were planted the seeds of what would eventually become Digital Dimension Gaming.

After that event, it was about another year before we were asked to run the game room at another con in Houston called Atsuicon. We agreed and from then on out, DDG has consistently been providing quality run game rooms at cons all over Texas.

In 2007, we met the leader of the Dallas chapter of the National Video Game Association who introduced us to the NVGA as a whole. Thanks to him and all the other top dogs at the NVGA, we became even more involved with this crazy thing called gaming.

At that time, there were other guys running the Houston-Scene, but due to school and work, it was becoming ever increasingly difficult to maintain the Houston-Scene website or NVGA position. That's when DDG stepped in and helped to improve the overall look and feel of the Houston-Scene.

We continued running tournaments and helping out at events treating the Houston-Scene more as a hobby though (because that's what it was), but school, work and that pesky thing called money (or the LACK thereof) annoyingly kept interfering every now and then. Because for all intents and purposes, we were nothing more than just a small, although rather obsessively dedicated, group of gamers.

That's when we realized, "Holy Jebus! We can make this into MORE than just a hobby! We can make this EPIC!"

And so, in late 2008, armed with a set of goals and a bucketful of awesome, DDG set about to re-make the Houston-Scene from the ground up. We started with the various gaming communities in an effort to network all players in Houston and the surrounding areas, together in our one common goal: to grow as a community and become the very best.

DugFinn took the initiative with the first decisive blow and purchased an actual venue and set up the necessary structure to ensure victory for the epic win. The rest is history.

And that history is now. Are you a part of it?
