Special Pre-registering Instructions

At the end of checkout, please copy/paste the following into the "Add Special Instructions to the Seller" option on the "Review Your Payment" page (like in the photo below).

Real Name:
Handle/Badge Name:
Location:
Age:
Email:
Cell Number:

These are the reasons why we need this information.
Real Name: (This helps us confirm who paid for what tournaments and it helps confirm your identity at the tournament so don't forget to also bring an ID)
Handle/Badge Name: (This is the name that will be used in the tournament)
Location: (City and State, and country if you're from out of the US)
Age: (because this matters for some reason)
Email: (So we can send you a confirmation and any updates about the tournament)
Cell Number: (this is optional, but useful - we'll use it only at the tournament in case your name is called but you don't respond within the time limit - you only get one call, so it's not a guarantee, but it can help prevent you from getting disqualified)

You should receive a confirmation back from us in no later than 3 days. If you do not receive a confirmation email from us in 3 days, contact DugFinn at DugFinn@gmail.com with your Name (Real or Handle) and with the date on when you pre-registered.

At the tournament

What to bring: An ID and your controller.

You are more than welcome to check-in with us before the tournament begins to confirm that your name is in fact in the bracket(s), but it is not necessary. If you received a confirmation through email, then your name IS in the brackets.

Brackets will be displayed before the tournament starts. Please check them and report any issues you might have. Once the tournament starts it is too late. And you will have to suck it up. No Johns.

Only your Handle name will be used at the tournament. Your real name will not be mentioned.

If any dispute arises over more than one person claiming the same name, then we will check IDs to settle who is who. Therefore, make sure you use a REAL name in the "Real Name" field and bring your ID, just incase.

Before the tournament

Make sure you receive a confirmation email. If you have not received your confirmation email within 3 days of pre-registering, contact DugFinn at DugFinn@gmail.com with your Name (Real or Handle) and with the date on when you pre-registered.

Check the Houston-Scene.com or the forums of your game's specific community for up to date changes or gossip. You can find most of these forums by checking out the Communities menu on the right hand side of this webpage.

Post on the forums to find a place to stay for the tournament. Local gaming communities are full of awesome players that are usually ready and willing to let other players stay at their houses. This can save you hotel money, but it is at your own risk so make sure you know what you're doing.

If you are staying at a hotel, make sure you reserve in ADVANCE. Hotels near the area fill up FAST. If it is for a convention, check the convention website for hotel discounts. They always have them. Check the forums or get together with lots of other friends and share a room to save on hotel expenses.

If driving, make sure your vehicle gets checked out at least a week before the event. Nothing sucks more than missing an event because your car crapped out on you the day of the tournament.
